Collection Sort

Collection Sorting

Updated Sep 18, 2026

Collection Sorting orders the products inside a collection automatically, based on a rule you choose. Pick a strategy once — for example "best sellers first" — and Ouiteo arranges the products to match. With auto-sort enabled, it keeps the order up to date on a schedule, so your strongest products stay near the top as your store changes.

How it works

  1. Open a collection — Go to the Collections page and choose the collection you want to sort.
  2. Choose how to sort — Pick a sort rule, such as best sellers, revenue, or stock level.
  3. Turn on auto-sort — Enable auto-sort and choose how often Ouiteo should re-sort the collection.
  4. Save — Ouiteo sorts the collection now and re-sorts it automatically on your schedule.
  5. Sort on demand — You can also trigger a sort at any time without waiting for the schedule.

Ways to sort

You can order a collection by things like:

  • Performance — products sold, revenue, or net revenue over a date range you choose.
  • Stock — current inventory, how recently an item was restocked, or how recently new stock arrived.
  • Price and margin — price, compare-at price, discount, discount percentage, profit, or margin.
  • Product details — alphabetical by title, newest, recently updated, product type, tag, SKU, or weight.
  • Engagement — product views, add-to-carts, checkouts, and conversion rates (these need Google Analytics connected).
  • Other — random order, or a manual order you set yourself.

For performance and engagement sorts, you choose the look-back window (for example the last 30 or 90 days), and dates are calculated in your store's timezone.

FAQ

Will the order update on its own? Yes. With auto-sort enabled, Ouiteo re-sorts the collection on the schedule you choose, so the order reflects your latest sales, stock, and engagement data.

Can I sort a collection right now instead of waiting? Yes. You can run a sort on demand at any time.

Can different products be treated differently in the same collection? Yes. Use segments to push featured products up, push slow or out-of-stock products down, and sort the rest by your chosen rule. See the segments help article.

Can I sort by shopper behaviour like views or add-to-carts? Yes, once you connect Google Analytics. That unlocks engagement sorts such as views, add-to-carts, checkouts, and conversion rates.

Does Ouiteo change which products are in my collection? Collection Sorting changes the order of the products in a collection, not which products belong to it.
