Recommendations overview

Updated Sep 18, 2026

Recommendations rank your products by demand so you can surface your best performers. Ouiteo looks at signals like how often products are ordered, how many different customers have shown interest, and page views, then scores each product. You can use those scores to curate collections or feature your most popular items.

How it works

  1. Check that your store qualifies — Recommendations need enough sales and product data to be meaningful. The app shows whether your store currently qualifies and, if not, what's needed.
  2. Set your preferences — Choose how far back to look at order history, the minimum number of orders a product needs to qualify, and how much weight to give each signal.
  3. Generate recommendations — Ouiteo scores your products and shows the ranked results.
  4. Use the results — Save the scores to your products so collections can be ordered by them, or create a collection from your top products.
  5. Refresh — Re-generate scores periodically so your recommendations stay current.

Signals used

  • Order frequency — how often a product is purchased.
  • Unique customers — how many different customers have interacted with the product.
  • Page views — how much attention a product gets, when analytics data is connected.

You control how much each signal counts toward the final score.

Requirements

To produce meaningful recommendations, your store needs enough recent order history and a large enough catalogue. The app checks this for you and explains any requirements you haven't met yet. Connecting your analytics is optional and adds the page-view signal, but recommendations still work without it.

FAQ

Why doesn't my store qualify yet? Recommendations need a certain amount of recent sales and a large enough catalogue. The app shows a checklist of what's still needed.

Do I need analytics connected? No. Analytics adds the page-view signal, but recommendations work without it using your order and customer data.

Can I control which signals matter most? Yes. You can adjust how much weight goes to order frequency, unique customers, and page views.

How do I use the recommendation scores? You can save the scores to your products and sort collections by them, or build a new collection from your top-ranked products.

Do recommendations stay up to date? You can re-generate scores on a regular basis so they reflect your latest sales and engagement.
