Collection Builder

Collection Builder lets you create Shopify collections from rules instead of adding products by hand. Products that match your rules are added to the collection, and products that stop matching are removed. The collection then keeps itself up to date on a schedule you choose, so it always reflects your current catalogue.

How it works

1. Name your collection — Set a title, an optional URL handle, and a description.
2. Define the rules — Use a filter to decide which products belong, for example "vendor is Nike and price over 50".
3. Choose the order — Pick how products are sorted within the collection.
4. Set a sync schedule — Decide how often the collection re-checks its rules and updates membership.
5. Create — The collection is created in Shopify and the matching products are added.
6. Auto-sync — On your chosen schedule, the collection re-checks its rules and adds or removes products as needed.

Fine-tuning membership

• Exclude tags — Keep out products that carry certain tags, even if they match the rules.
• Manual includes — Always include specific products, regardless of the rules.
• Manual excludes — Always leave out specific products, regardless of the rules.

How to set it up

1. Open the Collection Builder page and create a new collection.
2. Enter the title, handle, and description.
3. Choose a saved filter to define which products belong, and preview the matches.
4. Add any manual includes, excludes, or excluded tags.
5. Choose a sort order and set how often the collection should sync.
6. Save to create the collection and run the first sync.

FAQ

Will the collection update on its own? Yes. With auto-sync enabled, the collection re-checks its rules on your chosen schedule and updates which products are in it.

Can I add or remove specific products by hand? Yes. You can always include or exclude individual products regardless of the rules, using manual includes and excludes.

How are products ordered in the collection? You choose a sort order during setup, and that order is applied each time the collection syncs.

Can I update the collection right away instead of waiting? Yes. You can trigger a manual sync at any time.

What happens if I delete a managed collection in Ouiteo? You can remove it from Ouiteo, with the option to also delete the collection in Shopify if you choose.
